2020 is almost over and it’s probably an understatement to say that it didn’t go as expected. Did you have great ideas and grand plans that fell by the wayside as the world turned upside down? I know the feeling.
Many of us have lost family members, friends and our idols. Some of us have even lost our livelihoods and struggled to keep our heads afloat. It’s been a tumultuous year with enough negativity and pain to go around.
But I’d like to think that tucked in there were some positives too. Whether that was spending more time with family, learning something new or doing something you could never make the time for before. Maybe for the first time, in a long time, you simply stopped doing and practiced just being for a while. I’m hoping you learned a lot about yourself and those in your life (good and bad).
So as you step into 2021 remember to take the lessons of 2020 with you. Despite the hardships you’ve endured don’t look to the future with dread but with a sense of optimism. After all you’re one of the lucky ones, you made it this far, and you have another chance to be … anything you want. You understand, especially now, what a precious gift that is!
So don’t let it go to waste. Ask yourself: What do you truly want? What do you need to do to get there? How can you continue to learn and grow? How can you continue the journey to becoming the best you can be.
Go forward and make 2021 a success, however you define it. So many have fallen but you have a chance to keep going. You have a chance to create the life of your dreams. You are so much stronger than you think. Let this be the year you finally make it happen.
