“Most people miss opportunity because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.” Thomas A. Edison
Do you complain about the way things are in your world? Maybe you haven’t progressed as much as you thought you would in your career. Or perhaps you have great ideas but never had the time to bring any of them to life. Do you lament the lack of opportunity in your life? It seems like others have all the luck.
But has it ever occurred to you that your problem may not be a lack of opportunity but rather a lack of commitment.
You haven’t invested the time and energy required to make the most of the opportunities that you do have. You haven’t been willing to make the sacrifices and suffer through the hardship that is sometimes required. You find it easy to start but don’t have the focus and determination to follow through.
You think you’re committed but maybe all you are is interested.
Because here’s the difference:
An interested person will take action only when it’s convenient and easy. She won’t go the extra yard to learn something new and tap out when things get tough.
A committed person will do whatever it takes to make things happen. She’ll keep going even when the going gets tough. She knows that she can always learn and improve.
Is your life a disappointment?
Are those dreams of yours still only dreams?
Maybe the reason is staring you right in the face.
Maybe you’re not committed merely interested.
Now, what will you do about it?
