When was the last time you sat and complained about something in your life? What was it this time? Was it your job and how frustrated you are? Or maybe it was about your relationship because there’s no longer any excitement. Perhaps it was about about all the things you wish you could do but for one reason or other haven’t been able to.
How many reasons do you find to be dissatisfied and unhappy?
But what if the real reason you aren’t getting what you want is because you haven’t invested the time, energy and effort required? What if you’re not doing enough to make the best of each opportunity presented to you? What if some of the deficiencies in your life are really down to your lack of commitment?
It takes commitment to achieve great things
I think it was Peter Drucker who said:
’Unless commitment is made, there are only promises and hopes; but no plans.’
So how committed are you ?
Are you fully invested and willing to make sacrifices or are you half-in, half-out? Do you persist through the hard times when things aren’t going your way or do you just give up? Do you take action even when you don’t feel like it or are you waiting to feel motivated? Are you truly committed to bringing to life those things you complain about?
You feel frustrated
When you look at your life you get frustrated. You feel a ripple of discontent and there are times when you want to be somewhere else, doing something else. You find yourself thinking: ‘I wish…’
But what if you asked yourself these questions instead:
- Am I really doing all I can right now to make the most of what I have?
- Am I giving my best or just settling for doing ok?
- Am I playing it safe or going all in?
- Am I showing up to take action consistently or just being lazy?
- Am I truly committed or just pretending I am?
Remember what you put into anything is what you get out of it
So, are you going to take control of your life and your future and invest more into your goals? Are you ready to complain less and do more?
Why not decide right now to commit to making your dreams come true? What is one small step you can take today?
Now over to you.
Is there an area in your life where you invest little but expect a lot?
Could you commit to giving more of yourself today?
